Strong Sign-on
Strong sign-on requirements are step one in your information security. Using multifactor authentication, FSG uses a combination of username and password along with security questions and secure access codes to guard your information from attackers.
Usernames
- As part of our security measures, your Username:
- Must be 8 - 16 characters long
- May contain any of the following special characters: `~!@#$%^&*()_+-={}|[]:";'<>?,./\
Passwords
Passwords are key in tightly guarding your information. For your online banking, we recommend that you use strong passwords that are not easy to guess and that are not information you use in other places. A strong password is:
-
A combination of letters, numbers, and symbols ; (we require at least one number and one uppercase letter, though greater variety is better)
- At least 8 characters long; (our max limit is 12 characters)
- Unique
- Changed regularly
- Significantly different from your previous passwords (Your password cannot be the same as any of your last 5 passwords.)
Strong passwords are not:
- Found in a dictionary
- The same as any of your social networking site passwords
- The name of your pet, family member, etc.
- Any personal information publicly/readily available such as your birth date.
Secure Access Code
Another critical part in our multifactor authentication is a Secure Access Code we send you once you successfully enter your username and password. The Secure Access Code is a dynamic pin that we deliver via phone, text, or email to a location that you have designated while setting up your account. Once you enter the PIN, we place a Secure Token in your browser so that the next time you log on, you need to enter just your User ID and password.
- Your PC must be configured to accept 'cookies' from this site.
- The number of allowable activations may be limited for the security of your account.
